Contractor Standards

Professional standards for every CoreMatch contractor

These standards establish the minimum accuracy, licensing, safety, and conduct expectations for contractors using the marketplace.

Effective September 15, 2026

CoreMatch is operated by EdgeiT Marketing. These policies apply to the CoreMatch website, accounts, marketplace tools, and related communications.

1. Who may create a contractor account

A contractor account must be created and maintained by an adult who is authorized to act for the business. Contractors must use their correct legal or registered business identity and may not impersonate another person or business.

2. Licensing, registration, and permits

  • Maintain every license, registration, certification, bond, and permit required for each service and location in which you offer work.
  • Provide an accurate public license number and issuing jurisdiction when licensed, or a truthful explanation when a license is not legally required.
  • Do not advertise or accept work beyond the scope, classification, monetary limit, or geographic reach of your authorization.
  • Promptly update CoreMatch if a license is suspended, restricted, expired, surrendered, or otherwise changes.

CoreMatch may request supporting records, but a submitted or verified credential is not an endorsement or guarantee. Homeowners should independently confirm current status with the issuing authority.

3. Insurance and financial responsibility

Maintain legally required and commercially appropriate insurance and bonding for the work you offer. Insurance policy numbers and supporting records are treated as private verification information and must not be placed in public profile text, messages, bids, or media unless sharing is legally necessary and secure.

4. Accurate profiles, bids, and representations

  • Describe experience, employees, equipment, ownership, service areas, availability, prices, warranties, and affiliations accurately and without misleading omissions.
  • Use only portfolio content, logos, photos, videos, and customer statements you have permission to publish.
  • Clearly disclose material conditions, exclusions, allowances, expiration dates, and change-order practices in bids.
  • Do not claim that CoreMatch recommends, certifies, employs, or guarantees you.

5. Direct contracts and payment obligations

The contractor and homeowner contract directly. Contractors are responsible for legally required written contracts, notices, cancellation rights, deposits, payment schedules, lien notices, warranties, change orders, taxes, and recordkeeping. A CoreMatch bid or message is not a substitute for a compliant home-improvement contract.

6. Safety, property, and respectful conduct

  • Follow applicable building, safety, environmental, labor, accessibility, and consumer-protection laws.
  • Protect homeowner addresses, access instructions, contact details, and property information from unauthorized use or disclosure.
  • Do not discriminate, harass, threaten, pressure, or retaliate against a user.
  • Do not request unnecessary sensitive information or use CoreMatch leads for unrelated solicitation.

7. Review integrity

Do not create, purchase, trade, gate, suppress, or condition incentives on positive reviews. You may ask a customer for an honest review without suggesting a required sentiment and may respond professionally to criticism. The CoreMatch Review Policy applies to all review activity.

8. Cooperation, enforcement, and reporting

Contractors must cooperate with reasonable safety, identity, credential, fraud, and complaint reviews conducted by EdgeiT Marketing. We may limit visibility, pause matching, request documentation, preserve records, or suspend or terminate access for suspected violations. Serious safety concerns or unlawful conduct may be referred to appropriate authorities.

Report inaccurate credentials, unsafe conduct, or suspected fraud using the legal contact below. Emergency or immediate safety concerns should be directed to local emergency services or the appropriate licensing or law-enforcement authority.
